Podcast Style Videos for Your Business – How to Hire a Professional to Make one

A photo for a blog about podcast style videos for your business and how to hire a professional to make one, taught by Jay Ashcroft of four32 Media, a professional videographer, photographer and marketing specialist who works with businesses in Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Muskoka and the rest of North America

Don’t jump to conclusions too quickly here – I’m not suggesting that you go and become a famous podcaster. You have other shit to do, you know, like running your business.

But what I am recommending to every business owner that I can is to make podcast style videos for your business – here’s how to hire a professional to make one.

Podcasts have been around for ages, and they’re a great form of information sharing for a lot of people. Something else that has started to trend is that these podcasts will be filmed as well.

I’m sure Joe Rogan started this – you can see all his podcasts on YouTube, or listen to them on any streaming service.

Along with the full-length podcasts, we have these short little cuts that we see everywhere too. They’re basically 30 seconds to one minute in length, and they’re just a really juicy piece of content.

There’s some captions thrown over top, and it’s super shareable.

So, I would recommend finding and hiring a team of pros to film something like this for you. You can do one, see if you liked the process and the outcome, and then keep doing it again and again if you like.

Let me share my experience with it. I have a construction client, and we’re always looking for clever ways to market what he does. We’ve done these types of videos for him twice now.

One of them was with another contractor, and one was with an electrician – both of these companies are in his circle.

Conceptually, we’re wanting two individuals who are like minded to be sitting down for a conversation, and that’s all there is to it. They should ideally have interesting things to say about their skillsets and knowledge.

The chat should last for an hour or so. Thinking about this from a strategic standpoint, you should be chatting with someone who is going to create more leads for your business.

So, from the stance of remodels and renovations – by watching our analytics for the construction company, we’ve found that it’s actually the women of the household who initiate the hiring process.

So, from that metric – we’re now wanting to have the owner of the construction company have chats with interior designers. This will appeal to the women of the household, and will hopefully peak their interests in hiring our client.

So, if you want to do this for yourself and you’re wanting to hire a professional, it’ll cost you anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 per project.

The company you’re hiring should have access to professional lighting, microphones, 2 – 3 camera angles and a space to film it in. They should understand that the concept for the final product is 1x full length video sent to the client, as well as 10 – 20x individual cuts of the best talking points, on each side of the conversation.

Making a video like this is a wonderful way to show potential customers who you really are, in a candid conversation with a collaborator in your industry.

It shows the audience that you’re knowledgeable, friendly, and that you care about what you do every day. This is why podcast style videos are valuable for your business.

Steal this idea and use it! And as always, if you want to chat or you just have a question or two, you know where to find me.

To Your Success,

Jay Ashcroft
